ABOUT THE OWNER

A career shaped by how electrical systems work.

Gerard began in residential wiring at 19, then moved into commercial work rewiring boilers and schools in New York City. The work taught him how to assess existing systems, plan the electrical scope and solve the details that affect safety and performance.

His interest in electrical systems started much earlier while watching his father, an auto mechanic, work through engines and wiring. That curiosity still shows up in how Gerard studies the infrastructure of a building before planning the work.

UTILITY EXPERIENCE

Experience that starts with electrical demand.

Gerard spent 15 years with Con Edison working across electricity, heat, light and power, then moved to Schoharie County for high-voltage work with Central Hudson Gas and Electric.

That background helps New Village Electric evaluate service capacity and electrical loads before customers invest in an upgrade or expansion. When utility coordination is part of the project, the work can be planned around what the service can support.

A family-run electrical company.

New Village Electric is built around the family. Gerard’s son, Maté, works with him on jobs while studying at the University at Albany. His daughter Abigail helps with technology and proposals, and his wife Marta supports the business and customer communication.

The goal is straightforward: grow carefully while providing dependable electrical work for local homes, businesses and industries.
